How to view safely

Certified — but only if you use them right

  1. 01

    Inspect before every use

Hold the lenses up to a bright lamp. If you see pinholes, scratches or tears, do not use them.

  2. 02

    Fit over your glasses

With the sun out of view, place the fit-over frames over your prescription glasses for a full wrap-around seal.

  3. 03

    Then look up

Turn to the sun. After viewing, turn away before removing them. Supervise children at all times.

Do

  • Wear them over your prescription glasses for a complete seal
  • Inspect the lenses for damage before every use
  • Store in a cool, dry place between eclipses
  • Scan the QR code to confirm authenticity

Don't

  • Look through cameras, binoculars or telescopes while wearing them
  • Use them if scratched, pinholed or cracked
  • Use ordinary sunglasses as a substitute
  • Leave children unsupervised during viewing
