These solar eclipse glasses that fit over your prescription glasses clip onto the lens, which is a bit concerning. It states that they are rubber and will be gentle on the lens, but I think it would be better if they clipped onto the nose part instead of the lens.
Once they are clipped on, they don't slip around, so that's good, but they do lift up on a hinge, so you can see where you are going when you aren't looking at the sun. The hinge seems of good quality and it works well.
Because they attach to your regular glasses, they aren't uncomfortable or different to wear, and it is easy to flip them up when not needed, so you don't have to remove them until the eclipse is over once you've put them on.
The black lenses are amazing, you literally can't see a thing other than the sun through these lenses, so it is vital that they lift up so you can see where you are going if you were glasses. You can get ones to wear if you don't wear glasses, but if you do wear glasses then you have to change them when you want to look at the sun, so you wouldn't be able to just take a quick break without changing them. I have the other kind, as well, but for me, who wears glasses, these are a lot more convenient.
I'm really looking forward to watching the solar eclipse with these glasses this time, we had to use white cardboard last time.
Worked just fine. But one of the lenses was loose when it arrived. Couls easily click it back in place. Lucky I was only goong to use it for a couple of hours. Really blocked the light out and I could safely see the eclipse. The only light bright enough to pierce through the lenses was the sun.
Easy to use, sturdy and very effective
Tried them out at home in the UK, perfect easy to fit, flip and remove. Perfect sun viewing. Also work well over the phone camera lens. Letting me photo without direct looking- now in Spain for 36 hours to get a 100% eclipse experience for real
