1. Measure Your Aperture
Note the outer diameter of the tube or lens and cut a cardboard ring slightly larger than the front of your instrument.
2. Cut to Size
Lay the film flat and cut a disc with a 10 mm margin on each side. Handle it by the edges without creasing the surface.
3. Mount It Securely
Place the disc on the cardboard ring and fix it with tape - flat and firmly held, with no risk of slipping off.
4. Check Before Every Use
Inspect the film against a bright light: no pinholes, scratches or tears. Cover the finderscope and replace if damaged.
About this model
La Hoja de Filtro Solar Absolute Eclipse es una película solar flexible para la observación y fotografía segura y directa del Sol a través de instrumentos ópticos. Corta la hoja a medida y móntala sobre la apertura frontal de un telescopio, un par de prismáticos, un catalejo o un objetivo de cámara para ver manchas solares, tránsitos planetarios y eclipses solares, o para construir tu propio filtro solar personalizado a una fracción del costo de uno ya hecho.
La película es un polímero aluminizado que transmite no más de 0,00023% de luz visible — una densidad óptica de al menos OD 5.6 — reduciendo la radiación ultravioleta, visible e infrarroja del Sol a niveles de visualización cómodos y mostrando un disco solar naranja nítido y natural con detalles claros de las manchas solares. El material del filtro es probado de manera independiente por ICS Laboratories (un laboratorio de pruebas acreditado por ISO/IEC 17025).
Disponible en tres tamaños cuadrados — 100×100 mm, 150×150 mm y 210×210 mm — para adaptarse a cualquier cosa, desde un objetivo de cámara hasta un gran refractor o prismáticos. Mide la apertura de tu instrumento, recorta la hoja dejando al menos 10 mm de superposición en cada lado, y asegúrala sobre la apertura frontal con un marco rígido, soporte o cinta. Coloca el lado reflectante plateado hacia el Sol y el lado negro hacia el instrumento.
⚠ Seguridad
Este filtro siempre debe ser el primer elemento óptico entre el Sol y tu instrumento. Nunca lo coloques detrás del ocular o de una lente, donde la luz solar concentrada lo quemará y causará daño instantáneo y permanente. Inspecciona la película antes de cada uso y no la uses si está rayada, perforada o doblada. Supervisa a los niños en todo momento.

Measure your aperture
Measure the front aperture of your telescope, binoculars or lens before cutting.

Cut & mount over the front
Trim the sheet leaving at least 10 mm overlap on every side, and secure it over the FRONT aperture — never behind the eyepiece or lens.

Inspect, then observe
Check the film for pinholes, scratches or creases. Position the silver side towards the Sun and observe. Supervise children at all times.
Do
- Mount the filter over the FRONT aperture, before any lens
- Leave at least 10 mm overlap and secure it firmly
- Face the silver reflective side towards the Sun
- Inspect the film for damage before every use
Don't
- Place the filter behind the eyepiece or a lens — it will burn through instantly
- Use the film if scratched, pinholed or creased
- Leave gaps where direct sunlight can bypass the filter
- Leave children unsupervised during observation
